Nothing compares to Sunlu abs like. Using anything else is waste of money and time because other resins WILL break on you. Sunlu doesn't. You have to basically intentionally try to break a mini.

I dunno what you guys are doing with the miniatures you print that they snap so frequently...

Okay so a lifehack....do not use the flat legobase, just make a big flat plasticine and put the frame on top. Use Silicone spray for releasing and better silicone spread, when the first half is done you do not have to diassemble the entire frame just enough to build for the other side. Now spray again silicone spray, then wipe up the part which is on the silicone(or better yet spray the silicone into some small cup and use a brush to spread it on the figure), then spread a little talcum with a brush evenly on the mold itself. Por the other half....the two side will came apart nicely and the mold will be less lkely full of bubbles

Ohhh I did not know about the Phrozen RPG resin. I used to use the Phrozen 8k resin, loved it, but stopped using it as my miniatures were way too brittle to be used for table top gaming. Certainly gonna give the RPG resin a try. Edited: for some reason Phrozen's EU online shop do not ship to my country 😞

I print a lot of 3d miniatures and my favorite resin is SirayaTech Fast Grey. It has some flexibility and has good strength. I've dropped a few figures and haven't had any breaks yet. In terms of price it is mid-range $30 - $40 per kg but if I'm going to take the time and effort to paint them I don't want them breaking if you look at them dross-eyed.

LOVE the end result! But it was me and i would have put in all that work, I would have gone the extra mile and sand off the resin supports marks. They are really an eyesore.

You should try zenithal priming. Spray black then spray grey from 45 degrees down then spray white from the top down. Add a dark wash all over then speed paint as usual

The purple primer was and yellow drybrush really nice touch. The problem with slapchop is you get translucent colours over black in the recesses and that always turns out looking ugly and unnatural. An underpaint with a dark blue or purple or magenta with yellowish highlights helps you achieve chromatic contrast and keep your contrast-style paints nice and vibrant.

I'm seriously considering painting my HeroQuest minis using slapchop thanks to your videos, but a word of caution I always hear is you need to be very neat because unlike acrylics, mistakes with speedpaints are harder to fix. What would you suggest?

Try basing in dark purple or something besides black for enhanced values, as human eyes perceive value more than shade.

As far as resin goes ABS is more than enough other resins cost more and do nothing different at all, unless its a high quality flex resin of some sort.

You can get great results a digital camera and a free trial of software, to be honest, much better results than that creality scanner. I wish I could photo comment

You know that philosophy can really help me when I start a new project, look up and see if there is a tutorial on said project, try and follow along, and lament and cry when I feel the need to buy/color match every paint the instructor uses, that I clearly do not have, because I do not have a bottomless bank account.
